Max Chen, General Manager of WEISUN Industrial, was recently invited to be featured on CTS's “Top People” program. In the interview, he shared the company's journey from traditional OEM to building its own brand, and further expanding into the semiconductor and advanced electronics process equipment market.
During the program, Max Chen discussed how the company helps customers implement automated temperature control systems, achieving temperature uniformity within ±3°C. He also explained the motivation behind developing high-temperature applications up to 530°C, and how WEISUN leverages its core expertise to address sustainability challenges—changing the common perception of industrial ovens as high energy-consuming machines, and helping customers reach their energy-saving goals.

From Drying Fruits to Processing Wafers
In its early days, WEISUN Industrial mainly operated as an OEM, manufacturing equipment for established drying companies in Taiwan. While this business model supported the company's survival, it limited the development of its own brand and technical influence.
After the global financial crisis in 2009, Max Chen decided to transform the company by building its own brand. He personally carried brochures, visited clients, and participated in exhibitions. It took five years of consistent effort for the company to gradually establish a solid market presence.
The year 2017 marked a key turning point. WEISUN upgraded its ovens from manual operation to automated systems, with specifications reaching semiconductor process standards for the first time. Since then, the company has continued to develop smarter equipment, expanding applications from general industrial drying to PCB, electronics, and semiconductor industries, where higher precision and environmental control are required.
Precision and Energy Efficiency Drive Customer Value
WEISUN Industrial has established a strong position in the market for two main reasons.
First is temperature control precision. The oven chamber temperature uniformity can be maintained within ±3°C, which directly impacts yield in electronics and semiconductor processes and is a critical requirement.
Second is energy efficiency. Compared to conventional equipment, WEISUN's ovens can help customers reduce electricity consumption by at least 30%. In today's manufacturing environment, where energy costs are a growing concern, this provides clear and practical value.
Confidence in the Company and Its Team
From a one-person operation handling R&D and multiple roles to today's growing organization, Max Chen attributes the company's progress to strong confidence in its products. In the interview, he also expressed gratitude to the team that has grown alongside the company. Their collective effort has enabled WEISUN to overcome challenges and continue advancing, supported by multiple patented technologies that validate its development path.
